Before leaving my blog for a long maternity leave… I just want to share¬†some pictures of Gabrielle with you ūüôā

A child’s love
A child’s love is so sweet,
A child’s love cannot be beat.
The way they look you in the eye,
The way they hold you when they cry.
Believe it or not they truly care,
And no matter what they need you there.
They take good thoughts and fill up your head,
They hug and kiss you before they go to bed.
But most of all their love is true,
And always say they love you too!

First of all, I just want to say how much I love my ERGObaby carrier!  Having tried many other carriers, when I put the ERGObaby on for the first time, it was like a revelation!  This is how babywearing is supposed to be!!!
I have three different types of carriers that I have inherited or bought. Though the others have their merit, the ERGObaby is the most convenient and comfortable for me as far as back and shoulder support.
It was such an important part of my baby and my daily life. It is the most useful item I own. It is so quick to grab and snap on and go. It is such a secure carrier that I really felt comfortable going HandsFree. When I was breastfeeding, I nursed Gabrielle in it virtually everywhere I went. She naped in it. The head flap allowed her head to be supported when she was nursing or sleeping or as sun protection. And the pockets made it so easy to have all of my things with me.
Gabrielle is now almost 2 years old¬†and¬†we don’t¬†really use it¬†as often, but I¬†will¬†definitely use¬†it for a while to come with the new baby. I just love it so much!!!!

I have spent¬†a lot of time¬†after Gabrielle’s birth¬†in a permanent state of panic and worry over my little¬†girl sleeping arrangements. While pregant I read all about various ways of ensuring a contented happy baby and found out about swaddling.

For those of you who are not familiar with swaddling, it is basically wrapping your baby up in a sheet or blanket to form a cocoon. The idea being that your baby feels safe and secure, after all it has been used to being in a confined space for some time. In hospital, the nurses also encouraged the practice of swaddling.

The thing is, when babies are first born their hands and arms flap about a fair bit and they can’t control them. So swaddling Gabrielle.. in effect restraining her meant that she could sleep soundly and undisturbed.

So why the panic? Well, at around 4 months babies start to develop the ability to roll. If baby is wrapped up and can’t get arms free, rolling can be potentially fatal.

But all that worry is now over because she is sleeping soundly in her sleeping bag (see picture).

The idea of a sleeping bag is excellent, as you can see in the picture above it fits over the babies shoulders and leaves plenty of room for kicking legs. They are designed to be comfortable and warm and not require additional beddings. As there are no sheets to kick off while in a baby sleeping bag, your baby won’t wake up cold, or with sheets or blankets over their heads.¬†¬†

I would say that the greatest thing about the sleeping bag is that you ensure your baby is at a safe comfortable temperature, without restrictive sheets or blankets, leaving baby to move around happily. And as a mom, it is all what you want!

To own a Chariot is to embrace a lifestyle. A lifestyle guided by the importance of family fun, health and appreciation of the outdoors. You can use it for stroll, bike or¬†jog. “Chariot Carriers make it easier to stay mobile with high quality innovative child carrier products for almost every terrain and weather condition”. See the website at
I love¬†my Chariot! I¬†bought a Cougar (which is compatible for any activity) when Gabrielle was 12 months and I don’t know how I would live my outdoor life without it.
And before going out for a long ride… and snap for the baby, I make sure Gabrielle has an healthy lunch with proteine, glucide and vegetables. My favorite is the torta! I will share with you my little secret.
You just need 6 eggs + 1 cup of Italian cheese + 1 1/2 cup of cooked brown rice + 1 1/2 cup of cooked broccoli + 1/2 cupe of spaghetti sauce + 2 tbsp olive oil + salt and pepper.
In a large ovenproof casserole, heat the oil, put the rice+brocoli+spaghetti mixed together and sprinkle 3/4 cup of the cheese. Pour the eggs mixed together and cook for 3-4 minutes until the eggs are set but still a little runny on top. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and place in the oven under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the eggs are set and goldent brown on top.
That’s it! You can enjoy your torta and then go for a nice walk with your baby!!! Read the rest of this entry »

Cleaning¬†your baby’s eyes is very important. Many people do not realize that our eyes¬†are highly exposed to all kinds of harmful things in the air, sunlight, and water. And it is specially¬†true for¬†a baby¬†who¬†is always rubbping his eyes with dirty hands.

Thus it is necessary for us to wash¬†his eyes¬†regularly with a substance, which is pure. I highly recommend “ROSE WATER”. It is a natural product which does not contain harmful chemicals and is also doctor recommended.

Rose water is considered to be a home remedy that has been used for generations. Three to four drops of rose water should be applied to both the eyes. Take a cotton ball and soak it in Rose Water and place it over one eye. Repeat with the second eye. This should be done at least twice a day (in the morning and in the evening). It is an hygienic habit and it helps to prevent pink eye!

In the next¬†five articles, I would like to share with you¬†the¬†items I have used everyday in the last¬†two years and which have made my life easier…

The first one (for today’s article) is especially for breastfeeding. I think I have used it almost¬†six times a day for¬†210 days so it became like my best friend. And it is funny because its name is… MY BEST FRIEND NURSING PILLOW!

Now, I couldn’t imagine nursing without it. The experts explained why:¬† ” The My Brest Friend nursing pillow was designed to properly support mom and baby during breastfeeding. Other nursing pillowsand multi-purposed , crescent shaped pillows aren’t secure and don’t fully wrap around the body. As a result, they can shift, forcing mom to constantly readjust;this can add up to difficulty with positioning and latch on. My Brest Friend is the only pillow that stays securely in place and does not shift or slide like other crescent shaped pillows. It provides support, comfort and security to both mom and baby, making breastfeeding more enjoyable and successful“.

So if one day you are thinking about breastfeeding, this item may become also your best friend!

I am sorry for the delay. I was so disapointed¬†by the “non-result” of the ultrasound than I totaly forgot to edit my article ūüė¶

In fact the baby was moving a lot so we just had a 80% that… I would be A GIRL!

But we could still have a surprise…

See: baby was laughing at us!!!
